Talent Deep Dive Report

The Department of Science and Technology-Information and Communications Technology Office (DOST-ICTO) and the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), have been promoting the growth of the IT-BPM industry in the countryside through the Next Wave Cities (NWCs) program. With vast developments in the industry and growing demand for existing and new services, there is a need for more detailed information on talent and to establish a monitoring system of such information in potential IT-BPM host locations. This pilot “talent deep-dive” study is a first attempt at using existing official data to provide a more nuanced view of the talent profiles in selected locations. Provinces where the top-10 NWCs are located were selected for analysis: Batangas, Bulacan, Benguet, Camarines Sur, Cavite, Davao del Sur, Iloilo, Laguna, Negros Oriental, and Rizal.
