Wells Fargo inaugurates Center in Manila

Taguig, Philippines – Wells Fargo recently inaugurated its new facility in the Philippines, attended by senior leaders from Wells Fargo & Company.  Located in one of Metro Manila’s growing Cyberparks – McKinley Hill, the Wells Fargo Center, which will be over 300,000 square feet and house 2800 seats once it is fully completed, currently caters to 900 team members supporting the various lines of business of the Bank through its Enterprise Global Services (EGS) Delivery unit.

“The new Center in Manila adds to the commitment of Wells Fargo in providing our customers the service that the Bank has always been known for,” Wells Fargo EGS Delivery Head Aveek Mukherjee said. “People as a Competitive Advantage is also a core value of the company, and as such we  want to provide our team members a great facility where they would enjoy coming to work and be proud of, which is in line with our goal of being an employer of choice in the country.”

Teleperformance sees growth in non-voice segment in 2014

WITH the continued expansion of the local business-process outsourcing (BPO) industry, Teleperformance remains bullish on its business prospects in the Philippines, particularly seeing more growth in the non-voice services in 2014.

Citing report from the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP), David Rizzo, president for Asia Pacific of Teleperformance, told the BusinessMirror that the BPO sector is expected to meet its 18-percent growth target in 2013 and hit a total revenue of $10.4 billion for the year.

Cebu seen as viable site for BPO firms

Metro Cebu has remained a viable alternative office destination for business process outsourcing (BPO) firms, despite recent calamities, property consultancy firm CBRE Philippines said last week.

This optimism stemmed from reports of continued operations at its properties and client offices in key cities in the Visayas despite the devastation wrought by Supertyphoon “Yolanda” in parts of Leyte and Samar early November and the 7.2-magnitude earthquake in Bohol last month.

BPO workers: Consumer market driver

And what will significantly drive the consumer market, as has been progressively felt, will be the purchasing power of the business process outsourcing employees and workers.

SMIC acquires 5 BPO bldgs in BGC

MANILA, Philippines - Mall and banking conglomerate SM Investments Corp. (SMIC) has completed the purchase of five business process outsourcing (BPO) buildings in sprawling Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

The transaction marked the largest office space acquisition so far, the company said in a disclosure.
